Results of the Prize Competition for Primary and Secondary Schoolchildren titled “Innovation for a Better Life”

Based on the competition announced on 24 April 2017 for primary and secondary schoolchildren, the decision on the prizes awarded by the State Intellectual Property Office and the Coordination for the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights of the Republic of Croatia in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization for the best literary work, video work, composition, fine art work or cartoon on the theme of: “Innovation for a Better Life” is hereby published.

The Assessment Committee Members:

  • Ivana Nikolić Popović, President of the Croatian Cluster of Competitiveness of Creative and Cultural Industries
  • Ana Rački Marinković, Deputy Director General of the State Intellectual Property Office
  • Tanja Milović, Head of the Independent Service for Education, Promotion and Development of Use of Intellectual Property, State Intellectual Property Office   
  • Marina Ferić Jančić, Croatian Composers Association

assessed the works submitted for the competition on the basis of the following evaluation criteria:

  • adequate treatment of the theme given
  • creativity

Based on the assessments by the Assessment Committee, the following prizes shall be awarded for the best literary work, video work, composition, fine art work or cartoon on the theme of: “Innovation for a Better Life”: 

The prize for the best work in the category of works by primary schoolchildren in class 1 to 4 shall be awarded for the fine art work titled “Jumpglasses”, authors: Zlata Bačić and Bruna Bačić, Vladimir Nazor Primary School, Neviđane.
In addition to this work, the following works were selected in this category as finalists:
Fine art work: “My Inventing Machine”, author: Noa Kokić, Ladimirevci Primary School, P.Š.Ivanovci
Fine art work: “Smart Jacket with a Button”, author: Gabrijel Livaić, Pirovac Primary School

The prize for the best work in the category of works by primary schoolchildren in class 5 to 8 shall be awarded for the video work titled “Innovation for a Better Life by Vučetić“, authors: Nura Bićanić, Karlo Domančić, Una Vekić, Hvar Primary School.
In addition to this work, the following works were selected in this category as finalists:
Cartoon: “Colourful Rain”, authors: Josipa Barić, Ana Tea Stanić, August Cesarec Primary School, Ivankovo
Literary work: “Inventions for Easier Life to a Schoolchild”, author: Toni Vukić,   August Cesarec Primary School, Ivankovo

The prize for the best work in the category of works by secondary schoolchildren shall be awarded for the composition titled “Innovation for a Better Life”, author: Zrinka Čupić, Upper Town Secondary School, Zagreb
In addition to this work, the following works were selected in this category as finalists:
Fine art work: “Innovation for a Better Future”, author: Lana Zubak, Secondary School of Economics and Administration, Osijek
Cartoon: “Have Faith in Yourselves”, author: Klementina Cvetković, Medical School, Bjelovar

The best overall work as assessed by the Assessment Committee is the video work titled “Innovation for a Better Life by Vučetić“, authors: Nura Bićanić, Karlo Domančić, Una Vekić, Hvar Primary School.
