New Edition of the Newsletter of the EU Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights Published

Let us inform you that the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights (EU Observatory) acting at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) published a new edition of “The Observatory Newsletter” (October, 2016).
The Newsletter contains the report from the EU Observatory Plenary meeting held at the EUIPO’s headquarter on 28th and 29th September 2016.
Furthermore, the Newsletter published the news on Agorateka, the new portal starting operating, which facilitates EU citizens to find legal digital contents like music, books, films, TV series, video games and sports events, currently offering legal contents from France, Great Britain, Latvia and Portugal. There is also the news published in the Newsletter that the EU Observatory provided answers from 28 EU Member States on its website to fifteen most frequent questions asked by consumers in the field of copyright and related rights regarding usage in digital environment.
Also, the Newsletter provides the news on Intellectual Property Crime Coordinated Coalition (IPC3), which started operating as a separate organisational unit within Europol based on cooperation between the Europol and the EUIPO, aiming at building capacities in the fight against counterfeiting and piracy and providing operational and technical support to competent authorities in the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the European Union and beyond.
The Newsletter presents also new studies in the field of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights published in the last few months; their release and most important conclusions were communicated to the interested public on this website as well.
