European Commission Published the Public Consultation on the Protection and Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights in the Non-European Union Countries

The European Commission, Directory General for Trade (DG Trade) has published a public consultation on its website on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in non-European Union countries with the purpose to gather information from EU entities interested in the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in non-European Union countries. 

The purpose of the present public consultation is to identify non-European Union countries in which IPR protection and enforcement is a cause for concern, as well as to update the European Commission’s report on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in third countries. 

The results of the public consultation will help the Commission to focus its efforts and resources on priority countries and on specific areas of concern, with the aim of improving worldwide IPR protection and enforcement.

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is supporting this activity and encouraging its stakeholders to participate in the European Commission’s public consultation. Contributions to the consultation should be made until 26 May 2019 via the following link.
